Friday afternoon

The doctors took Mom off the ventilator Thursday around noon. She is doing breathing treatments and is still on morphine. They did move her off ICU to a room in the Women's Health Center, so Dad will be able to stay with her overnight now.

Paul & family are visiting this afternoon. We are holding our breath that we have passed the worst and can begin to heal from the surgery.

Visits tire Mom very quickly. I take a book when I am there so she can drift off and not feel a need to interact with me. She can listen, but it is harder than you think to talk to someone without their input, and it is hard to listen without holding up your end of the conversation.

Prayers are the ship we are sailing in. Thank you so much.

Just wanted to let you know that you and all your family are in my prayers. I pray that all would see God's goodness and faithfulness and experience unexplainable peace. I assume you are at the hospital most of the time-may I PLEASE serve you by bringing supper , or helping with some household chores or both? I know you have 3 very capable daughters but sometimes a little help makes it easier on everyone. Tonite I'm lifting up your dad.

Love you girl

Hope that Connie continues to do well, Angie. If she feels up to company on Monday, we will drive up to Tulsa to see her. We'll make it a very short visit so that we don't tire her out. If that isn't convenient for her or Ron, please let us know. We can wait until she is discharged to home if that would be better for everybody. Thanks & Love, Phyllis

Take care, Connie, and we hope you continue to regain your strength as the week goes on so that you'll be able to be discharged to home. We said a special prayer for you during church this morning and will be anxiously awaiting any news regarding your progress from Ron or Angie this week. As soon as you are back home and settled in, we'd love to come and visit you. With love and hugs, Phyllis & Gene
